Data, PII, PCI and PHI

To define the term "personal data", Stoïk applies the rule "one person = one piece of data". If your client holds the first name, last name, email address, postal address, banking, or medical data of a person (whether an employee, client, or vendor), this counts as a single piece of data.

As part of our custom studies, we may ask you to distinguish between different types of data, including:

  • PII (Personally Identifiable Information): data that can directly or indirectly identify a person (name and/or address and/or phone number, etc.);

  • PCI (Payment Card Industry): data related to a payment card;

  • PHI (Protected Health Information): personal data concerning a person's physical or mental health.
