# Mobile devices

Install CrowdStrike Falcon on smartphones, either through an MDM solution or manually with a QR code.

## Installation

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="MDM" %}
CrowdStrike Falcon installs through an MDM like any other managed application: push it from your MDM console (app store or enterprise catalog) to the target devices, making sure the customer ID is configured for the app.

There are too many MDM solutions to document each one individually. Refer to your MDM provider's own documentation for the exact deployment steps.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Deploying via MDM does not remove the manual step described in the `Manual` tab: each employee still needs to receive and scan their QR code by email to complete the setup.
{% endhint %}
{% endtab %}

#### Setup in Stoïk Protect

1. In Stoïk Protect, go to `MDR` > `Settings`.
2. In the `Mobiles` section, click **Deploy**.
3. Add employees by entering their email addresses manually, or uploading a CSV file.
4. Each employee receives a personalized email containing a QR code.

#### Install on the mobile device

1. Download the CrowdStrike Falcon app.
2. Open the app and scan the QR code received by email.

The EDR installs automatically and the device appears in your monitored hosts list in Stoïk Protect.
{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}

## Personal use of work phones

* **Android:** Two separate environments can be configured via software separation (with two "Play Stores"). In this case, no personal activity is blocked, as CrowdStrike is only installed on one environment.
* **iOS:** CrowdStrike does not have the ability to block applications. The installation is non-intrusive, focused on detecting risky behavior.

## What the mobile EDR blocks

* Malicious IP addresses and domains
* Applications deemed dangerous

The features for viewing installed applications are not enabled.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.stoik.io/mdr/deploy/crowdstrike/add-on/mobile.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
