Manual employee import

If your organization does not use Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, you can onboard your employees for phishing simulations by importing them manually from a CSV file.

Active (degraded) status

A manually-imported phishing provider shows the status Active (degraded). This is expected: campaigns are fully operational, but there is no live directory sync. Employees are not added or removed automatically when your team changes — you must update the list yourself.

1

Step 1. Add a Manual import provider

  1. Go to Overview > Settings.

  2. In the providers table, click Add a provider.

  3. Select Manual import.

If you do not see the Manual import option, your account has not been enabled for this feature. Contact your Stoïk Customer Success Manager.

Step 2. Download the CSV template

In the pop-in that opens, click Download the CSV template.

The file contains the following columns:

Column
Required
Description

email

Yes

Employee email address

firstName

Yes

Employee first name

lastName

Yes

Employee last name

language

Yes

Language code: fr, en, de, es, nl

timezone

No

IANA timezone (e.g. Europe/Paris). Defaults to Europe/Paris if left empty.

Step 3. Fill in and upload the file

  1. Fill in one row per employee. Each row is one employee.

  2. Save the file in .csv format.

  3. Back in the pop-in, click Upload and select your file.

  4. Stoïk validates the file immediately. Rows with errors are highlighted with a clear explanation — fix them and re-upload before proceeding. Common errors include:

    • Missing required field

    • Invalid email format

    • Unsupported language code

  5. Once all rows are valid, click Confirm.

A new Manual provider row appears in your providers table with the status Active (degraded). Your employees are now ready to be included in phishing campaigns.

Edit your employee list

You can update your employee list at any time without redoing the full setup.

  1. In Overview > Settings, find the Manual row in the providers table.

  2. Click ... on that row.

  3. Select Edit employee list.

  4. Upload an updated CSV or adjust individual employees directly.
